MovGoTV: new movies, Top IMDb classics and TV series, from Project Hail Mary to Breaking Bad

MovGoTV is a bright, simple place to choose the next film or series. It keeps the light look of its last archived design, measured from the site's own style sheets: a pale grey page, a clean white header with a soft shadow, a wide backdrop slider with a smoky caption panel, a dark side list of today's favourites, fresh green section tabs and posters that carry a small yellow HD label. Every title now opens on the official services that carry it, through one green Watch Now button.

This guide explains how MovGoTV works and what waits on each shelf. The first part tours the page itself: the header, the slider, the side list, the Suggestion tabs, the Latest Movies, Latest TV Series and Latest Episodes rows, the posters with their hover tips, the genre buttons and the title pages. The second part walks the shelves, from the newest cinema releases through the Top IMDb classics, the big film universes, animation, Bollywood and French cinema, and on to the English series. The third part is practical: services in the United States, India and France, audio and subtitles, free and legal viewing, devices, the official address and a few habits that make movie night easy. You can read how to watch on MovGoTV as a short version of the first part.

The white header

The header sits at the top of every page and follows you as you scroll, a white band seventy pixels tall with a light shadow underneath. On the left, the logo shows a green circle with a white play button, the word MovGo in dark charcoal and a small green TV tab with a darker green edge along its base, the same edge the site's buttons carry.

Beside the logo, the menu reads Home, Movies, Top IMDb, Featured, TV Series, Genre, A-Z and My List in Montserrat, a round, friendly typeface. The page you are on turns green and gains a green line underneath; the others turn green as you point at them. The order follows the original menu closely: movies first, then the favourites, then the series and the genres.

On the right, a pale search box with a green magnifier finds any title. On tablets and phones, the menu folds into a green button with three lines, and the search box moves onto its own row so it stays wide enough to type in comfortably.

The backdrop slider

Below the header, the home page opens with a wide slider built from the films and series MovGoTV features this season. Each slide fills the frame with a backdrop still, framed on its upper part so faces and horizons stay in view, and a smoky caption panel sits along the right edge.

The caption panel holds everything you need to decide. The title comes first in green Montserrat, then the story in two or three lines, then a darker box with three facts: the genres, the duration or number of seasons and the score. At the foot of the panel, a green Watch Now button with a deeper green edge opens the title page.

Small white dots in the lower left corner jump between slides, and the slider also scrolls with a swipe on a phone or a trackpad. On a phone, the caption panel moves under the picture as a charcoal card, so the text stays large and easy to read.

The Top Today list

To the right of the slider, a dark panel lists the favourites of the moment. Two tabs sit along its top in a near-black bar: Top Today for films and Top Series for television. The active tab turns green.

Each list holds six titles, numbered in green, with a small poster, the title in white, and the year and score in soft grey underneath. It is the quickest way to see what everyone is watching, and every row opens the title page with a single click.

The welcome strip

Under the slider, a white strip introduces MovGoTV in one line and one short paragraph, followed by quick buttons for Movies, Top IMDb, Featured, TV Series, Genre and My List. The buttons are pale grey and turn green as you point at them, so the next step is always one click away.

The Suggestion tabs

The first poster section is called Suggestion, as it was on the original site. Its green title tab sits on a green line that runs the width of the page, and three smaller tabs sit beside it: Featured, Most Viewed and Top Rating.

Featured shows the handpicked releases of the season, the same titles the slider opens with, followed by the rest of the newest cinema. Most Viewed sorts the whole catalogue by popularity, films and series together. Top Rating shows the highest-rated films on the Top IMDb shelf, from the courtroom of prison classics to the peaks of Middle-earth.

The tabs switch instantly on the same page, and they respond to the keyboard as well as the mouse. The chosen tab turns a pale grey with bold text.

The Latest rows

Three rows follow the Suggestion tabs. Latest Movies lists the films by release date, newest first. Latest TV Series lists the most followed series of the moment. Latest Episodes shows the newest episode of each series, with a wide still, the series title, the season number and the episode title.

Each row has a green View more button on its right that opens the complete list. The new movies guide and the TV series guide walk through these rows title by title.

Posters and hover tips

Every poster on MovGoTV carries the same details. A yellow HD label sits in the top right corner of every film; a round green badge with the episode count sits there on every series. The title runs along the bottom of the poster over a soft dark fade, so the grid reads like a wall of cinema lobby cards.

Point at a poster and a white information tip slides over it with a thin green line along its top. The tip shows the title, the score in a yellow star tag, the year, the runtime or seasons, a short story, the genres and a green Watch Movie bar. It is the fastest way to compare three or four films before you choose one.

On a large screen the grid shows eight posters across, as the original did; tablets show six or four, and phones show three or two.

Genre buttons and help

Under the Latest rows, the Genre section lists every shelf as a pale button with its title count: Featured, Top IMDb, Hollywood, Bollywood, French movies, then Action, Adventure, Animation, Comedy, Crime, Drama, Family, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Sci-Fi and Thriller. The help section follows, with a short card for each guide, and this article closes the page.

The title page

Each title has its own page. It shows the poster, the backdrop, the story, the year, the runtime or seasons, the score, the genres, the cast and the director or creators. Series pages list every season with its episodes and air dates, so you can see at a glance where a story stands.

The page also carries two buttons: Watch Now and Add to My List. The first opens the viewing panel; the second saves the title for later on the My List page.

The Watch Now button

Watch Now is the heart of MovGoTV. Press it and a panel opens with a list of countries. Choose yours and the title opens on JustWatch, the guide that lists every subscription, rental, purchase and free service carrying that title in that country, with a direct link to each one.

The title then plays in the service's own app or website, in the best picture the service offers. MovGoTV remembers your country, so the next Watch Now opens the right list straight away.

Choosing your country

The country list starts with the places MovGoTV's visitors come from most: the United States, India and France. The United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the Philippines follow.

Services differ from country to country, and so do their catalogues. A film that sits on one service in New York may sit on another in Mumbai or Paris. The country list makes that easy: pick where you are, and the list shows exactly what is available there.

Project Hail Mary

Project Hail Mary leads the shelf. Based on the novel by Andy Weir, it follows a science teacher who wakes up alone on a spacecraft far from home, with a mission to save Earth and very few memories of how he got there. It is funny, warm and full of clever problem-solving, and it builds to one of the most charming friendships of recent science fiction.

It pairs perfectly with Interstellar for a weekend of big-screen space, and with Dune: Part Two for a double bill of deserts and distant worlds.

The Odyssey

The Odyssey brings Homer's great voyage to the screen. Odysseus sails home from the Trojan War through storms, monsters and temptations, while his family waits and hopes. It is the kind of grand, old-fashioned adventure the Featured shelf loves, with vast seas and ancient myths filmed on a spectacular scale.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Spider-Man: Brand New Day picks up Peter Parker's story after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, with a fresh start in New York and a new set of problems. For the full journey, the shelf also holds Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the animated heroes of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

Avatar: Fire and Ash

Avatar: Fire and Ash returns to Pandora with the Sully family and a new clan of fiery Na'vi. It continues the story of Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water, and all three are on MovGoTV. Watch them in order on the biggest screen in the house; the forests, oceans and volcanic plains are made for it.

New family films

Families have plenty to choose from. Toy Story 5 brings Woody, Buzz and the gang face to face with a new kind of rival: tablets and screens. Zootopia 2 sends Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde back onto the streets of their animal city. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie takes Mario and his friends into space, and Minions & Monsters gives the little yellow helpers a monster movie of their own.

Moana retells the ocean adventure as a live-action film, with Moana answering the call of the sea beyond her island's reef. Hoppers, from Pixar, lets people hop their minds into robotic animals, and Swapped trades the places of a woodland creature and a majestic bird. KPop Demon Hunters, the animated hit about a K-pop trio who protect the world with their songs, has become a family favourite with music that stays in the head for days.

Heroes of the season

Supergirl follows Kara Zor-El on a cosmic journey after a ruthless adversary strikes close to home, and Superman shows her cousin in Metropolis, reconciling his Kryptonian heritage with the family that raised him. The Mandalorian and Grogu brings the bounty hunter and his small green companion from the series to the cinema.

Masters of the Universe sends Prince Adam back to Eternia with the Sword of Power, and The Punisher: One Last Kill brings Frank Castle back for one more fight. Deadpool & Wolverine is here too, for fans who like their heroes loud and irreverent.

Thrills and chills

For suspense, Disclosure Day follows a cybersecurity expert who uncovers a secret about life beyond Earth, and War of the Worlds tells the classic invasion story through the screens of a surveillance analyst. Mayday traps a Navy pilot behind enemy lines during the Cold War, and War Machine follows Army Ranger trainees on a final mission that turns into a fight for survival.

Horror fans can try Evil Dead Burn, Backrooms, with its strange doorway in a furniture showroom basement, and The Whisper Man, a chilling detective story about a father searching for his son. Scary Movie brings the spoof series back for a new round of laughs, and The End of Oak Street lifts a whole suburban street into the unknown.

Drama and music

Michael tells the story of Michael Jackson, from the Jackson 5 to the world stage, with the music at its heart. The Devil Wears Prada 2 returns to the fashion magazine and its unforgettable editor, The Housemaid turns a live-in job into a twisting thriller, and F1 puts a veteran driver back on the grid beside a young rookie, filmed at real Grand Prix races.

Jurassic World Rebirth takes a new team to an island where the biggest dinosaurs still roam, and Shelter follows a man on a remote island who rescues a young girl from a storm. Fast X keeps the family on the road, and The Wild Robot tells the gentle story of a robot who learns to raise a gosling on a wild island.

Latest Movies by date

The Latest Movies row on the home page and the Movies list keep every film in order. The row sorts by release date, so the newest arrivals come first; the Movies list sorts by popularity, so the films everyone is talking about come first. Between them, a new release is always easy to find.

When a film first reaches cinemas, the Watch Now panel may show only rental and purchase options. A few weeks later, it usually joins a subscription service. Adding it to My List keeps it close until then.

The Top IMDb shelf

The Top IMDb page was one of the original site's favourite menu items, a list of the highest-rated movies of all time. MovGoTV keeps it in the menu. The Top IMDb shelf gathers films with a score of 8.2 or more from thousands of votes, and it sorts them by score, so the most loved films in cinema history sit at the top.

The Shawshank Redemption

The Shawshank Redemption has topped audience lists for decades. A banker sentenced to life in prison forms a lasting friendship with a fellow inmate, and together they hold on to hope over many years. It is patient, moving and deeply satisfying, and its final act is one of the most rewarding in film.

The Green Mile, also from a Stephen King story, sits close by: a prison guard on death row meets a gentle giant with an extraordinary gift.

The Godfather films

The Godfather and The Godfather Part II follow the Corleone family across two generations, from Vito's rise in New York to Michael's cold command of the family business. They are best watched together over one long evening, and they reward every second viewing with details missed the first time.

Crime classics

The shelf is rich in crime. GoodFellas follows three decades of life inside the mob with dazzling energy. Pulp Fiction weaves several Los Angeles stories into one playful, twisting whole. Se7en and The Silence of the Lambs are the great detective thrillers of the nineties, dark and gripping from their first scene. Fight Club turns an office worker's insomnia into something much stranger.

History on screen

Schindler's List tells the true story of a businessman who saved more than a thousand lives during the Second World War, and it remains one of the most powerful films ever made. The Imitation Game follows Alan Turing and the team that cracked the Enigma code, and Oppenheimer traces the life of the physicist behind the atomic bomb in three hours of gripping cinema.

Middle-earth

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King follow Frodo, Sam and their companions across Middle-earth to Mount Doom. The third film won all eleven Academy Awards it was nominated for. The trilogy works beautifully as a long weekend project, one film per evening.

A galaxy far, far away

The Empire Strikes Back is the favourite Star Wars film of many fans, with the snows of Hoth, the swamps of Dagobah and one of the most famous revelations in movie history. It makes a great companion to The Mandalorian and Grogu on the Featured shelf.

Christopher Nolan

Christopher Nolan has more films on MovGoTV's Top IMDb shelf than almost anyone. The Dark Knight is the high point of his Batman trilogy, and The Dark Knight Rises completes it. Inception builds heists inside dreams, Interstellar sends a father through a wormhole to find a new home for humanity, and Oppenheimer brought him the Academy Award for Best Director.

The Avengers

The Marvel films are some of the most watched titles on the site. Start with Iron Man and Iron Man 2, gather the team in The Avengers, then follow Avengers: Age of Ultron, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame to the end of the great Infinity Saga. Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: No Way Home add Peter Parker's side of the story, and Deadpool & Wolverine brings two of the franchise's wildest characters together.

Gotham and Metropolis

From DC, The Batman follows a younger Bruce Wayne through a rain-soaked Gotham in a detective story, and Joker tells the origin of Batman's most famous enemy as a gripping character study. Superman and Supergirl open the new chapter of the DC films with bright colours and big hearts.

Hogwarts

Four Harry Potter films sit in the catalogue: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Together they cover the Triwizard Tournament, the rise of Dumbledore's Army and the final battle for Hogwarts.

Great adventures

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest sends Captain Jack Sparrow after the heart of Davy Jones, Mad Max: Fury Road is a two-hour chase across a burning desert, and Top Gun: Maverick puts Tom Cruise back in the cockpit for some of the finest flying scenes ever filmed. Dune and Dune: Part Two bring Frank Herbert's desert planet to life, and Blade Runner 2049 returns to a rainy, neon future.

Real Steel pairs a father and son with a boxing robot, Alien: Covenant takes a colony ship to a dangerous planet, and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 follows Katniss as she becomes the face of a rebellion.

Animation for everyone

MovGoTV's animation shelf spans every age. Coco follows a boy into the vibrant Land of the Dead to learn his family's history. WALL·E is a near-silent love story between two robots. Inside Out turns the feelings inside a young girl's head into a whole team of characters, and Despicable Me introduced the world to Gru and his Minions.

For something a little spooky, Coraline and Corpse Bride are stop-motion treasures. The Wild Robot is a gentle tale of a robot learning to care for a gosling, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse changed what animated superhero films could look like. The Animation shelf gathers every one of them.

Tarantino and Fincher

Django Unchained and Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood show Quentin Tarantino at his most playful and stylish. David Fincher's Gone Girl is a sharp mystery about a marriage and a disappearance, and his Se7en and Fight Club sit on the Top IMDb shelf. Watch any two back to back for a masterclass in modern film-making.

The TV Series shelf

The original MovGoTV had its own rows for the latest TV series and the latest episodes, and they return here. The TV Series list holds thirty-six English series, from the great prestige dramas to the comfort shows that run for ten seasons or more. Each series page lists every season and every episode with its air date.

Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul

Breaking Bad is the series most often named as the best television drama of its time. A chemistry teacher in New Mexico turns to crime after a life-changing diagnosis, and five seasons trace his transformation with extraordinary tension. Better Call Saul tells the story of the lawyer Jimmy McGill before he became Saul Goodman, and it stands proudly beside the original.

Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders follows the Shelby family through the streets of Birmingham after the First World War, with sharp suits, sharper dialogue and a modern soundtrack. Six seasons carry Tommy Shelby from the betting shops to Parliament. It is stylish, gripping and made for a binge.

Westerns old and new

Yellowstone follows the Dutton family and their vast Montana ranch, with sweeping landscapes and family battles over land and power. Tulsa King sends a New York mobster to Oklahoma, where he builds a new crew from scratch. Fargo tells a new crime story each season, full of snow, dark humour and memorable characters, and Sons of Anarchy rides with a motorcycle club in California.

Dragons and kings

House of the Dragon tells the story of House Targaryen at the height of its power, two centuries before the story fans know from the books, with dragons filling the skies over Westeros. Vikings follows the legendary Ragnar Lothbrok from farmer to king, with raids, voyages and family feuds across six seasons.

Stranger Things

Stranger Things mixes eighties adventure, small-town friendship and supernatural mystery. A group of kids in Hawkins, Indiana, search for a missing friend and discover a girl with extraordinary powers and a shadowy world beneath their town. It is one of the most watched series of the century, and its young cast grew up on screen across five seasons.

Mysteries and science fiction

Silo imagines the last of humanity living in a vast underground tower, where an engineer starts asking questions about the world outside. FROM traps visitors in a small town that holds on to everyone who arrives, where creatures roam after dark. Westworld explores a theme park staffed by lifelike robots, and Black Mirror tells a new story about technology in almost every episode.

These four suit viewers who love puzzles, theories and cliffhangers. Watch one episode and the next is hard to resist.

Heroes on television

The Boys shows what superheroes might be like if fame went to their heads, with a team of ordinary people determined to hold them to account. The Flash and Arrow built a whole television universe of DC heroes over many seasons, and Lucifer brings the devil himself to Los Angeles as a nightclub owner who helps the police solve crimes.

Crime and investigation

Crime series are some of the most watched shows on the site. The Mentalist follows a former psychic who uses his sharp eye for detail to help the California Bureau of Investigation. The Blacklist pairs an FBI profiler with a master criminal who offers to help catch the world's most dangerous fugitives. Reacher brings Lee Child's tall, clever investigator to the screen with plenty of action.

The Rookie follows a man who becomes the oldest rookie in the Los Angeles Police Department, Chicago P.D. rides with an intelligence unit on the streets of Chicago, and 9-1-1 follows the first responders of Los Angeles through every kind of emergency. Homeland follows a CIA officer through years of spy stories, and Suits follows a brilliant college dropout who talks his way into a top law firm.

Medicine and hope

The Good Doctor follows a young surgeon with autism and a remarkable gift for medicine as he earns the trust of his colleagues at a San Jose hospital. It is warm, hopeful and full of cases that keep you guessing until the final minutes.

Magic and monsters

The Walking Dead follows a sheriff's deputy and a band of survivors across eleven seasons after the fall of civilization. The Vampire Diaries mixes romance and the supernatural in a small Virginia town. Once Upon a Time brings fairy-tale characters into the real world, and Grimm follows a detective descended from a line of hunters who can see the creatures hidden among us.

Comedy to lift the mood

Ted Lasso is the feel-good series of the decade: an American football coach takes over an English football club and wins everyone over with kindness. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is a joyful workplace comedy set in a New York police precinct. Modern Family follows three branches of one big family through eleven seasons, and Young Sheldon tells the childhood of a gifted boy growing up in Texas.

Adventure Time, with Finn the human and Jake the dog, is an animated classic enjoyed by children and adults alike.

The Latest Episodes row

The Latest Episodes row on the home page shows the newest episode that has aired for each series, most recent first. Each card shows a wide still, the series title, the season number and the episode title, and a green badge with the episode number. Click it and the series page opens with the whole season list.

It is the simplest way to keep up with a returning series. When a new season begins, its episodes rise to the front of the row as they air.

Planning a binge

Long series are easier with a plan. Start with the episode count on the green badge, pick a pace of two or three episodes an evening, and add the series to My List so it waits at the top. A ten-episode season fits comfortably into a week; a twenty-two-episode season of a procedural fits into a month.

Series such as Black Mirror and Fargo tell a new story each season or episode, so you can start anywhere. Serial stories such as Breaking Bad and Silo are best from the first episode.

Bollywood on MovGoTV

India is one of MovGoTV's biggest audiences, and the Bollywood shelf brings twenty Hindi favourites, from the family classics of the last decade to the action spectacles of today. The Bollywood guide gives a short tour; here is the longer one.

Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan leads several films on the shelf. Pathaan is a globe-trotting spy adventure, and Jawan is a thrilling action drama with a double role. Chennai Express is a colourful road comedy through the south of India, Happy New Year is a glittering heist and dance-competition caper, and Dilwale mixes romance, comedy and car chases. Dear Zindagi shows his gentler side as a kind therapist who helps a young cinematographer.

Action and spies

War pairs Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff as a mentor and his student in a chase across the world. Uri: The Surgical Strike dramatizes a real military operation with gripping precision. Dhoom 3 stages a heist across Chicago with acrobatic flair, and Dhurandhar is one of the biggest Hindi action hits of recent years. KILL sets a relentless fight aboard a night train and has become a favourite of action fans worldwide.

Aamir Khan and true stories

Dangal tells the true story of a wrestler who trains his daughters to become champions, and it is one of the most successful Indian films ever made. PK follows a curious visitor from another planet who asks big questions about faith and life. 12th Fail tells the inspiring true story of a young man from a small village who works his way to one of India's toughest exams.

Films with heart

Bajrangi Bhaijaan follows a devoted man who helps a lost little girl find her way home across the border, and it brings audiences to tears every time. The Lunchbox is a quiet, lovely story about a widower and a young wife who begin writing to each other through a mistaken lunch delivery in Mumbai.

Mysteries and legends

Andhadhun follows a pianist who pretends to be blind and then becomes the only witness to a crime; it is full of twists and dark humour. Tumbbad is a haunting folk-horror tale about a family's hidden treasure and the price of greed, with stunning rain-soaked images. Gangs of Wasseypur - Part 1 is an epic crime saga about the feud between two families across generations. Padmaavat brings a legendary queen to the screen in lavish period style.

French cinema

France is MovGoTV's third audience, and the French movies shelf brings fifteen films, from beloved comedies to award-winning dramas. The French movies guide offers a quick overview.

The Intouchables and The Artist

The Intouchables is one of the most loved French films of the century: a wealthy man who uses a wheelchair hires a young man from the suburbs as his carer, and the two form a funny, touching friendship. The Artist, a black-and-white film about a silent-film star facing the arrival of sound, won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

Award winners

Anatomy of a Fall won the Palme d'Or: a writer stands trial after her husband's death in a snowy mountain chalet, and the courtroom tests everything her family believed. Incendies follows twins who travel to the Middle East to uncover their mother's past. Emilia Pérez is a bold musical crime drama about a lawyer hired for an unusual mission. Portrait of a Lady on Fire is a luminous love story between a painter and her subject on a remote Breton island.

Adventure and legend

The Count of Monte Cristo brings Alexandre Dumas's great revenge adventure to the screen with lavish sets and costumes. Dracula retells the legend of the prince who waits centuries for his lost love. The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec follows a fearless writer through a Paris full of mummies and pterodactyls, and Beauty and the Beast is a sumptuous French fairy tale.

More from France

The Wolf's Call is a tense submarine thriller about a sonar expert with extraordinary hearing. Blood Father stars Mel Gibson as a former convict protecting his daughter. It Boy is a light romantic comedy set at a Paris fashion magazine, and Arthur 3: The War of the Two Worlds completes Luc Besson's adventure trilogy for children. My Life as a Zucchini is a tender stop-motion film about a boy who finds a new family among friends at a children's home.

Audio and subtitles

Most services offer Hindi and French films in their original language with subtitles in English and several other languages. Many Hindi films also carry dubbed audio in Tamil, Telugu and English, and many Hollywood films carry Hindi and French dubs. Open the audio and subtitle menu in the service's player and choose what suits you.

Subtitles are a great way to enjoy films from other countries. After a few minutes, reading them becomes second nature, and you hear the actors' own voices.

Services in the United States

In the United States, most titles on MovGoTV sit on Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Max, Hulu, Apple TV+, Peacock or Paramount+. Disney+ carries the Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar films, Max carries many Warner Bros. titles such as the Harry Potter films and The Batman, and Netflix and Prime Video share a large rotating library. The streaming services guide lists them all.

Services in India

In India, JioHotstar carries Disney, Marvel and many Hollywood films as well as Hindi hits, Prime Video and Netflix carry a large mix of Hindi and English titles, and ZEE5 and SonyLIV bring Hindi films and series. Many Hollywood titles in India also offer Hindi audio.

Services in France

In France, Canal+ carries many recent films, Netflix, Prime Video and Disney+ share the big franchises, and France.tv and Arte bring French cinema free with a simple account. The Watch Now panel shows all of these when you choose France.

Renting and buying

New releases usually arrive first to rent or buy on Apple TV, Google TV, Prime Video and similar stores. Renting gives you a few days to watch a film once you start it; buying keeps it in your library for good. The Watch Now panel shows the rental and purchase prices side by side with subscription options.

Free and legal viewing

Plenty of films are free and legal to watch with a few adverts. In the United States, Tubi, Pluto TV, Plex, The Roku Channel and Freevee carry thousands of films and series. In France, public broadcasters stream films and series for free, and in India, JioHotstar and ZEE5 offer free titles with adverts. Many public libraries also offer free streaming through Kanopy and Hoopla with a library card. The free movies guide has the details.

Picture quality

The yellow HD label on every film on MovGoTV is a reminder that official services stream in high definition, and many titles are also available in 4K with HDR. The best picture depends on the plan you choose, the device you watch on and the speed of your connection. A connection of about fifteen megabits per second is plenty for sharp HD, and around twenty-five suits 4K.

Phones, computers and televisions

MovGoTV works in any modern browser, on a phone, a tablet or a computer. On a large screen the hover tips and tabs make browsing quick; on a phone, the cards stack neatly and the slider scrolls with a swipe. Add MovGoTV to your home screen for one-tap access.

To watch on the television, find the title on MovGoTV, then open it in the service's app on your smart TV, streaming stick or games console, or cast it from your phone. The devices guide explains each option.

My List

My List keeps the titles you want to watch in one place. Press Add to My List on any title page, and the title joins the My List page, with its poster and a remove button. The list lives in your browser and works right away, ready from the first title you add.

To use your list on another device, press Export on the My List page to save one small file, then Import it on the other device. The two lists merge neatly.

More ways to find titles

The search box in the header reads titles, original titles and cast names, so typing Nolan, Shah Rukh or Stranger finds what you are after. The A-Z page lists every title alphabetically, the Genre page lists every shelf, and the Movies and TV Series lists sort by popularity. The finding titles guide sums it up.

The official MovGoTV

MovGoTV has one fixed address, shown in your browser's address bar. Bookmark it or add it to your home screen, and it opens with your country and My List in place. The official site guide explains what the real MovGoTV looks like: a pale grey page, a white header with the green play logo, a wide slider, green tabs and yellow HD labels.

If the site is slow, the site status page explains a few quick checks: refresh, try another browser or network, and check back a little later.

Staying safe

Safe streaming is simple. Use official apps and websites, keep your devices and browser up to date, use a strong password and two-step sign-in on your streaming accounts, and close any pop-up that asks you to install something. MovGoTV has one button per title and sends you only to JustWatch and official services. The safety checklist has a few more tips.

A walk through the genres

The Genre page opens seventeen shelves. Action gathers the heroes and the chases, from Mad Max: Fury Road to Reacher. Adventure gathers the journeys, from Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest to The Odyssey. Comedy mixes the films and the series, from Ted Lasso to Chennai Express, and Crime runs from The Godfather to The Mentalist.

Drama is the largest shelf of all, with everything from Forrest Gump to 12th Fail. Family gathers the films for all ages, Fantasy spans Middle-earth and Westeros, Mystery holds the puzzles and whodunits, and Sci-Fi runs from Interstellar to Silo.

Horror nights

For a scary evening, The Conjuring follows two paranormal investigators into a haunted farmhouse and remains one of the most effective ghost stories of its decade. Evil Dead Burn continues the famous horror series, Backrooms turns an ordinary basement into a maze of endless yellow rooms, and The Whisper Man brings a chilling detective mystery. Watch them with the lights low and a friend close by.

Thrillers

The Thriller shelf is full of twists. Gone Girl keeps its secrets until the very end, The Housemaid turns a dream job into a trap, and Disclosure Day sends a whistleblower on the run. Se7en and The Silence of the Lambs remain the benchmark for detective thrillers, and Blood Father adds a fast, tough chase through the desert.

Forrest Gump

Forrest Gump is a special case: a kind, simple man drifts through thirty years of American history, from the Vietnam War to ping-pong diplomacy, always following his heart back to his childhood love. It sits high on the Top IMDb shelf and suits any evening when the whole family wants to watch together.

Reading the scores

Each title shows a score out of ten, taken from the votes of TMDB's worldwide community of film fans, in the yellow star tag on the hover tip, in the slider caption and on the title page. The Top IMDb shelf keeps the name the original site gave its favourites list, and its ranking uses the same TMDB scores.

A score above 8 marks a widely loved title; 7 to 8 marks a strong one. Scores are a good starting point, and the story, the cast and the genres on the title page help you decide the rest.

A weekly habit

Many visitors settle into a simple routine. On Friday, check the Featured tab and the Latest Movies row for new releases. On Sunday, check the Latest Episodes row for the new episodes of your series. Once a month, pick a classic from the Top IMDb shelf that you have always meant to watch. Add everything to My List as you go, and movie night takes care of itself.

Worth watching again

Some films reward a second viewing even more than the first. Inception reveals new layers once you know where the dream ends. The Dark Knight plays differently when you know the ending. Pulp Fiction makes more sense in its playful order the second time, and Anatomy of a Fall invites you to weigh the evidence again. Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is so packed with detail that every viewing shows something new.

How titles are chosen

MovGoTV's catalogue follows the spirit of the original site: new and popular Hollywood films, the highest-rated classics, and English series, with Hindi and French favourites for the audiences in India and France. Every title is chosen by hand from TMDB's lists of popular and highly rated films and series, and each one is checked to suit a general audience.

The catalogue is refreshed as new titles arrive, so the Featured shelf and the Latest rows stay current.

Where the information comes from

Titles, posters, backdrops, stories, cast, runtimes, seasons, episodes and scores come from TMDB, The Movie Database, through its official interface. The Watch Now panel links to JustWatch, which tracks the services in each country. This guide and the help pages are written for MovGoTV, an independent site with its own writing, and the look is rebuilt from the archived design of the original site.

The About page says more about how MovGoTV works and what it keeps in your browser.
